Abstract

This thesis examines the suicide of five beautiful secluded teenagers in Jeffrey Euginides's The Virgin Suicides. The analysis is seen through the characters of the five girls who have committed suicide. The writer of this thesis wants to know about the factors underlying the suicides. The writer uses intrinsic theory such as character, characterization, setting, and conflict to support her work. By using those theories, the writer finds that the five beautiful girls are committing suicide because they feel secluded by their parents. Descriptive qualitative is chosen as the method of writing this study. The writer hopes that this study can help and gives information for the readers about suicidal in adolescent stage.
