Abstract
Background. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) known as etiology ofAcquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) which weaken immune system.There are some oral lesions that closely related to the progressiveness ofHIVIAIDS infection such as Oral Candidiosis, Oral Hairy Leukoplakia, LinearGingival Erythema, Necrotizing Ulcerative Gingivitis, Necrotizing UlcerativePeriodontitis, Sarkoma Kaposi, Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. Purpose. The aim ofthis study was to know the prevalence of close related HIVIAIDS oral lesions.Method. This research has been done in Unit Perawatan Intermediet PenyakitInfeksi (upIPl) RSUD Dr. Soetomo. The oral cavity of research subjects isexamine by dentist to observe types of close realated oral lesion which present.Result. 31 patients with Oral Candidiosis (66%), 13 patients with Oral HairyLeukoplalda (28%), 5 patients with Linear Gingival Erythema (11%), 3 patientswith Necrotizing Ulcerative Gingivitis (6%), Conclusion. Oral candidiasis is themost common ora/lesion which strongly associated with HWIAIDS.Key words: HIV, AIDS, Oral Lesions, Oral Candidiasis.
