Abstract

The term "Discourse Analysis" has come to be used with a wide range of meanings which cover a wide range of activities. It is used to describe activities at the intersection of disciplines as diverse as sociolinguistics and computational linguistics. The analysis of discourse is, necessarily, the analysis of language in use. This study is about kindergarten classroom discourse. The writer will describe how the discourse is carried out by the kindergarten teacher and the students. In this case, both the teacher and the students have to share the same schema. It is impossible for both of them to understand each other if they do not share the same schema.
