Abstract
Background. Oral candidiasis is a manifestation of the oral cavity that often occurs in people with HIVI AIDS. This is caused by immunocompromise condition in patients with HWI AIDS, so will be easier to facilitate the occurrence of oral candidiasis. Treatment of oral candidiasis which common given is anti-fungal, but recently, there are many cases of C. albicans resistance to the anti-fungal polyene, because of this condition, we have to think about another alternatives to face this fact. Purpose. To investigate the effoct of combination green tea extractnystatin on C.albicans colonization. Method. The In vitro combined effects of nystatin and extract of green tea against clinical isolates of Candida albicans which common given anti-fongal were invesgated using serial dilution method and calculation of the colony. This Candida albicans stock derived from HIV/ AIDS patients and had received ARV therapy in UP/PI RSUD Dr Soetomo Surabaya. ResulL The organism was suspectible to combination of green tea extract-nystatin with MIC of 12,5% and single nystatin had MIC of 12,5%. Conclusion. There was no difference MIC between combination of green tea extract-nystatin and single nystatin.
