Abstract

A laboratory experiment on animal was performed to observe effect of cigarette smoke stressor and electric foot shock stress on immune response of the male mice.The objective of this study used modified separate sample pretest -posttest control group design. Independent variables in this study are cigarette smoke and electric foot shock stress and combine of cigarette smoke stressor and electric foot shock stress. Five groups of 45 male mice BALB/C were separated using sample random sampling procedure and grouped as follows. First group of 9 male mice BALB/C was as a first control group. The second group was as a cigarette smoke stressor group. The third group was as an electric foot shock stress group. The fourth group was as a combine of cigarette smoke stressor and electric foot shock stress and the fifth group was as a second control group. The average weight of the mice is 30 - 35 gr. Seven days after treated with increasing dose of stress daily. Neutrophil, Complement, lymphocyte proliferation test of the lymphocyte T and B, IL-2, IFN Gamma, TNF Alpha,IL-4 and Cortisol as dependent variables were measured.
