Abstract
Motivation is the power that promotes a person to do something to achieve the goal. Humans have needs that must be met, and with the needs humans are motivated to work harder. The purpose of this study was to determine the nurses working motivation in Premier Hospital Surabaya.
This study used a descriptive correlation method with cross -sectional correlation. The samples in this study were 124 nurses. Instrument used was a questionnaire based on Maslow's basic needs theory. The datas were analyzed by Spearman correlation test with a significance level of α ≤ 0.05.
The results of the Spearman correlation test, correlation values between the physiological needs was 0,308 and working motivation was weak which means the higher the nurses physiological needs, the higher their motivation. Correlation values between the safety and comfort needs with working motivation and relatively weak at 0.236. Correlation values between the need for love and belonging with working motivation were 0,237 and relatively weak. Correlation values between the need for respected with working motivation were 0.189 and relatively very weak. Correlation values between self-actualization needs with working motivation was 0,230 and relatively weak.
