Abstract

AIDS is a collection of symptoms caused by decreasing the body's immunity as a result of the HIV attack. The incidence of transmission from mothers to children was increase in several years. The purpose of this study was to analyze maternal behavioral factors on motivation examination of HIV / AIDS test The study was used cross sectional method. The population was pregnant women in the public health center Medaeng Sidoarjo. The sample in this study were 30 pregnant woman. That had been collected using cluster sampling technique. The data was analized using Spearman Rho statistical test with p <0.05. The results of this study indicate that the weak relationship between knowledge and motivation pregnant p = 0.034 r = 0,387. There is a weak correlation between maternal attitudes and motivations p = 0.032 r = 0,391. The lack of correlation between family support and motivation pregnant p = 0.462 r = 0,140. There is no correlation between the role of health workers with maternal motivation p = 0.844 r = 0,037. Still there are other factors that are still not studied that may affect maternal motivation in examining HIV / AIDS test. Recommendations from this study was used as a material in order to develop programs to improve maternal behavior toward motivation test examination of HIV / AIDS. To increase motivation test examination of HIV / AIDS have the knowledge, attitude, family support and a role for good health
