Abstract

Some of recomended management for patient with Diabetes Mellitus is drug, diet, physical exercise, and counseling. Physical exercise is recomended for patient with Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Concentric exercise is exercise which is able to activate the translocation of GLUT-4 on blood glucose levels in Diabetes Mellitus. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of concentric exercise to lower blood glucose in diabetic mice (Mus musculus). This research was used a true experimental research, the random post test only control group design with simple random sampling. Sample research was mice (Mus musculus) male with body weight 20-25 grams. 27 male mices were divided inti three groups, group one as control, group two as DM without treatment, and group three as treatment which is given concentric exercise (running up hill). Data were analyzed by using One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test and ANOVA with α≤0,05. The result of ANOVA Post Hoc test with LSD test is p = 0,31. This result show the different of blood glucose level among the diabetic control group and diabetic with treatment group. The results of ANOVA Post Hoc test with LSD for blood glucose level revealed p=0,03 for normal control group with diabetic control group. The results of ANOVA Post Hoc test with LSD for blood glucose level revealed p=0,21 for normal control group with diabetic with treatment group. The results of this study can be considered as an alternative therapy for patients with Diabetes Mellitus. As a solution for the future, it is important to be produced to increase the frequency of concentric exercise decrease blood glucose levels. Therefore, it will be meaningful.
