Abstract

"This study was aimed to compare the effect of shrimp's extract intradermal injection and high intensity swimming exercise 011 rat's eosinophil count. Twenty rats are grouped into c.ontrol group and treatment groups. Treatment group received shrimp's extract intradermal injection while control group received cocoftltra solution intradermal injection. High intensity swimming exercise performed once in the bucket filled with water of 50 cm high, and load of 9% of body weight that was tied on rat's tail for approximately 80% maximal swimming capacity. The injection volume either shrimp's extract and cocoftltra was 0.01 mi. The analysis unit was blood taken directly from heart 100 minutes after injection either shrimp's extract and cocofiltra, and subjected to eosinophil count (/111) . Results obtained in control was 143 ± 53 11Ii. Group with shrimp's extract intradermal injection had 143 ± 79 1111. Group with high intensity swimming exercise had 457 ± 299 1111. The results of Anova test show significant difference (p9J.OO1). The results of LSD test show that high intensity swimming exercise significantly increased eosinophil count (p9J.OO1) while shrimp's extract intradermal injection did not significantly increased eosinophil count (p= 1.000). In conclusion, high intensity swimming exercise increased eosinophil count, while shrimp's extract intradermal injection did not."
