Abstract
Lungs TB is an infectious disease that is directly caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. Client compliance is important in building awareness of Lung TB clients to comply the treatment regiments. One method that can be used to boost compliance clients Lungs TB in taking anti tuberculosis is the of behavioral modification by using Health Belief Model (HBM).
The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors that influence compliance behavior to treat Lungs TB client based on the theory of model theory HBM.
This research employed descriptive-analytic designed with cross sectional approach. As many as 28 respondents were recruited as subject in this research by using nonprobability sampling, namely purposive sampling. The data then processed using test chi-square and linear of multiple regression. Statistical significance was assigned at p ≤ 0,05.
The results show that age, gender, and socioeconomic status of respondents have no relation with perception of seriousness and perceived threat wit p value of p = 0,106, p = 0,508, and p = 0,329 respectively. On the other hand, respondents knowledge had a significant influence on perception of seriousness and perceived threat (p = 0,021). Further more the perceived benefits and perceived barriers influenced the medication adherence of TB clients (p = 0,011). But perception of seriousness and perceived threat had no influence on medication adherence of TB client (p = 0,233).
In conclusion, knowledge has a significant relation perceived threat and seriousness; perceived benefit and barrier have a significant influence on clients compliance in TB medication adherence.
