Skripsi thesis, UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA.
Abstract
Pain is a natural process in a labor. Pain was subjective experience that occurred from the change of body organs. Pain response is differences between one and anothers. It was influenced by some factors that depends on coping mechanism since labor process. The factors are age, sex, culture, meaning of pain, attention, anxiety, previous experience, coping style and family and social support ( Gill, 1995 ). Effleurage technique is one of non pharmacologically method in labor pain response decrease that saved relatively, easy and non fetal equilibrium disturbed ( Pilliteri, 1992 ). But it is no applicant yet in Tabanan General Hospital Agency. Labor pain response decrease with effleurage technique temporary could be explained by distraction and relaxation mechanism. The purpose this study was going to learned effleurage technique to pain response on kala I active phase. The research method was Case Study (Pre-post test Control Design ). The population was mothers of inpartum with accounted 20 patients who having all criterias by using purposive sampling method. Data collected by interviews and observation, data were analyzed using Content Analysis. From the tabulation of data before and after intervention with effleurage technique for experimental group showed mostly (60%) experienced pain response decrease from severe pain to be more comfortable and less pain decrease and Jeastly (40%) with constant pain. Whereas for control group showed mostly (70%) experienced pain response increase from pain to be severe pain and leastly (30%) with constant pain (severe pain). The effect of effleurage technique to pain respons decrease in Tabanan General Hospital Agency could not be concluded. It caused that pain respons influence by some factors, invalidity and non reliability of instruments and non standardization of effleurage technique yet, etc. So it was very important for further studies to attentive the pain response differences that influenced by some factors, involve larger respondents and better measurement tools also make effleurage technique standardized to obtain more accurate results.
