Abstract

The nurse's role as an educator, undertaken to improve the health knowledge and address the client's ability to inform and improve the change of the client behavior . This study aims to analyze factors associated with the appearance of the nurse's role as an educator in the pavilion of Dr. H. Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan hospital Design of this study was cross sectional with correlation approach population were all nurses who served in the pavilion dr. H. Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan. Sample comprised 25 respondents, recruited using total sampling. Research instrument used questionnaires. Data were analyzed using spearman rho. The results indicate that health workers in the execution of the role as educator, the majority have less knowledge by 40%, while the majority of the negative attitude of health workers is 52% and the workers who did not carry out the role of educator of 80%. The most dominant factor associated with the appearance of the nurse's role is knowledge with correlation coefficient (r)=0.009. Age and knowledge associated with the appearance of the nurse's role as an educator, so it was expected to the hospitals to training and seminars to all health workers especially nurses of all ages to deepen their knowledge and for further research are expected to increase the number of respondents to produce valid data.
