Abstract

The case of avian influenza was increasing in Indonesia. Nurse can help public prevent avian influenza by using health promotion plus. This research conducted to examine the effect of health promotion plus about avian influenza in increasing of the chicken's owner knowledge, attitude, and behavior on Menang, Ponorogo. This research used Pra-Experimental design. Population had taken from Desa Menang Kecamatan Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo. Sample was 65 person. They were selected by simple random sampling. They were combined into intervention group. The independent variables in this research was health promotion plus about avian influenza disease. The dependent variables in this research were knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Data were collected using observation (checklist) about behavior and questionnaire about knowledge and attitude. They were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, with level of significance p ::; 0,05. Results showed that the owner chicken had low knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Results revealed increasing in the intervention group. In this group, knowledge of owner of chicken had significance level of p = 0,000, attitude had significance level ofp = 0,000, and behavior had significance level ofp = 0,000. It can be concluded that there are significant effect of health promotion plus on the chicken's owner knowledge, attitude, and behavior to prevent avian influenza. It can be suggested that this intervention can prevent avian influenza
