Abstract

Smoking on adolescent need to be able big attention. Many of ways have been done to prevent of smoking behavior on adolescent. However smoking amounts always increased, especially on adolescent. There are many factors influents of smoking behavior as like: 1) Psychology factor (stress) 2). Biology Factor 3). Environment factor (peer group and parents) 4) Regulatory factor. The objective of this research is to identification factors related to smoking behavior of adolescent on SMK Berdikari I Surabaya. It' s a cross sectional research. The population was student of SMK Berdikari I Surabaya. Sample size was 54 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The selection of the sample was conducted using probability sampling that is simple random sampling. Data were collected using smoking behavior questionnaire and open question. Data were analyzed by analysis content and using Spearman's Rho statistical test with significant level at < 0, 05. The result of research show smoking behavior on SMK Berdikari I Surabaya majority was light of 30 student (55, 6 %), average of 23 students ( 42,6 %) and heavy of 1 student (1 ,9%). The majority responders have peer group of negative influent as 35 students ( 64,8%) and having positive influent of parents was 47 students ( 87%) and the majority responders have experienced of light stress was 42 students ( 77,8%). The result of statistical test show there is significant relation between peer group factor with smoking behavior on adolescent with p=0,001, there was no significant relation between parents factor with smoking behavior p=0,072 and there was no significant relation between stress level with smoking behavior p=0,0324. This research can be summarized that peer group factor have relation with smoking behavior on adolescent at SMK Berdikari I Surabaya. While in the variable of parents and stress level need to do more research in the future.
