Abstract
Nurses are one of the most important, if not the most important, human resources of hospitals and other health-care organizations. Lack of reward systems and different of individual nurse's characteristic will be contributed to the quality of nursing service given. The object of this research were conducted to disclose correlation between individual characteristic and nurse reward system with nurse performance at RSUD Bontang. This research used cross-sectional design. Population were nurse's in RSUD Bontang. Sample was recruited using purposive sampling, consisting of 39 respondents taken according to the inclusion. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets and analyzed using linier regression test, with significant level a~ 0,005. Results showed that there was significant correlation between nurse's characteristic and nurse's performance with significant value (p = 0,003). While correlation between nurse reward system and nurse's performance with significant value (p = 0,002). It can be concluded that individual nurse's characteristic and nurse reward system have correlation between nurse's performance nursing care quality. Individual characteristic factor and nurse reward system must be considered to make judgement policy efficiency by human research. Further research must be done for identification factors who related nurse's performance.
