Abstract

In today's tattoos have become fashion trends and fashion for modern society. In general, most people think that tattooing is an art that can beautify the appearance, enhance your body or make someone look attractive. However, on the other side of the community generally considers tattoos as something negative, and the prohibition of tattooing the body for certain faiths reinforce the tattoo as something forbidden, haram, and should not be. So people who have tattoos will be considered as a violation of existing norms or values. In addition, for women who are tattooed, not infrequently associated as a "naughty girl" by society. From the background above, this study aims to determine how body image of adolescent girls who have tattoos on his body viewed from two sides of the body as well tattoo the purpose of tattooing the body's self-representation. Key informants in this study are 2 people adolescent girls in high school in Surabaya, aged 15 years and 17 years. This type of research is qualitative, depth interview method of data collection using the interview guidelines. From the results of this research note that the underlying reason for adolescent girls using a tattoo is to express the freedom of self-realization is reflected in the tattoo as an art and not as a torture body. In addition, the young woman admitted that the reason his body as well tattoo because I wanted to try and feel has a tattoo on the body, these young women are already aware of the regulation or prohibition in schools for students to have tattoos, piercings or wear excessive accessories.Therefore, the young woman was ready with sanctions that might have been able to receive because they are responsible for the consequences of their actions and body image among girls who use tattoo based on a fourdimensional body image gives the conclusion that both sources have a body image tend to be positive.
