Abstract

Abstrak/ringkasan The objective of the recent research is to find out a leucocyte number and differential counting of leucocyte as indicators of the body's immunity among the three carp strains (Cyprinus carpio L.). The experimental animals used in the research consisted of thirty fish, including 10 Punten strain carps, IO Local strain carps and IO Red strain carps with length in range 15-20 cm. The research was carried out with IO repetitions without any treatment. The carp blood was drawn using cardiac puncture method through the gill. Futhermore, the blood was closely examined for its leucocyte number using Dacies~ and differential counting using Giemsa® was also taken into existence to know the numbers of lymphocyte, monocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, and basophil. The research results shown that there was a characteristic both in leucocyte number and differential counting of leucocyte among the three strains.
