Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out the ideology of masculinity in Merit System according to the Pramuka Penegak's male member perception and textual analysis of the Merit System. Pramuka was an organiution of scouting in Indonesia It had the rule within it such as Merit System. Merit System was used for increasing the degree in every level in Pramuka. In the Merit System of Pramuka, there are some points which were analp.ed by textual analysis. This research used semi-structured interview and in depth interview also. It has been found that in the research the form of masculinity foregrounded in the Merit System and the masculine norm perceived by Pramuka Penegak's male members was the negotiation between New Man and New Lad masculinity.
