Abstract

Extra VCO contains Medium chain fatty acid (MCFA) which has saturated C6-C12 chains, and it's used to increase the metabolism that can produce more energy. The aims of this research is to find out the effect of extract VCO to the histopathological hepar of high fat diet white rats. The methode was using 20 white rats and separated into two groups, each 10 white rats for high fat diet (Po) and 10 white rats for extra VCO treatment (PI). After two months, the hepar from those rats was taken by abdominal surgery to examine the histopathological change, and than the fat degeneration was analized by using Mann Whitney Test. The result was p>O,05 for fat degeneration, these means that there was significant differentiation among Po and PI for the fat degeneration's changing. It was conclude that extra VCO influence the fat degerations changing in high fat diets white rats and good to be consumed because it doesn't distruct the structure of hepar.
