Abstract

Menopause woman often have depression. They have higher depression level than pre and postmenopausal women. Hopefully. husband support is able to reduce depression level of the menopause women. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between husband support and depression level of menopause woman. This study used Cross Sectional design. The populations of this research were all menopausal women age 45-55 years old at Pakis Sawahan Surabaya country side. Total sample are 21 menopausal women age 45-55 years old who have husband. The independent variable was husband support and the dependent variable was the depression level. Data were analyzed by Spearman's Rho with significant level of a ~ 0.05. · Result of statistical calculation showed that there was a positive correlation between husband support and depression level of menopause woman with p = 0.000 and r = 0.835. It's means that husband support has a strong correlation with depression level of the menopause women. It can be concluded that support given by people who have an emotional bond, is more affect the psychological respondents. When respondents have a high stimulus support /positive, the respondents will also respond with a positive response by showing a minimal level of depression, and vice versa. So, the higher husband support can reduce depression level and the lower one can increase it Therefore husband support has the very important role to help resolve the problems that occur in menopause women.
