Abstract

Death is the final process of human live on this world. Old people have physical and mental decrease and finally die. Death is a mystery that frightened by every human being. Geriatrics on RSJ Lawang have same problem, to anxiety death. at november 2002, How far the therapeutic communication had changed anxiety death on the obyective at phast resent is to done the effect of therapeutic communication to anxiety death. Quasy experiment with randomized pre and post test design was carried out in this study. Ten geriatrics, who have anxiety death problem were selected based on purposive sampling as a sample. They then divided into control and intervention group of the study (1 0 geriatrics each). The communication therapeutic was applied 6 times for intervention group. Data were collected by questionnaire and observation and then they were analyzed by WILCOXON (Z-test), With significance level p<0,05 The result shows that there were found a significant differences the attitude between control and intervention anxiety death to old Z= -3 ,842 and p=0,004. It is concluded that therapeutic communication has significally effect on facilitating to change the attitude anxiety death at geriatrics patient. Therapeutic communication have good effect to decrease the anxiety death on psychogeriatrics.
