Abstract

Recently, one of greatest cause of children death is ISPA (Upper Respiratory tract infection). Giving rational antibiotic become one solution to minimize this risk. So, delivery this drug required good knowledge of right dose and way. But, most parents usually haven't know about this rules. Based on this problem, the research has purpose to find co"elation between knowledge and obedience on delivery antibiotic for children with ISP A in Puskesmas Gayaman Mojokerto area. This research use cross sectional design. Population consist of parents (mother) in Puskesmas Gayaman area who has children with ISPA (Pneumonia) whether had or has been getting antibiotic. The amount of sample is 56 parent (mother) that's took by purposive sample method. Questioner be instrument to collect data and processed by chi-square test, with significant value 0,05. The result, most respondent or 43 respondent (76.8 %) has little knowledge, 10 respondent (/7.9 %) has good knowledge and 3 respondent (5.4 %) has good enough knowledge. For obedience, 40 respondent (71.4 %) is not obey and 16 respondent (28.5 %) is obey. The result statistic get X2 as 26.509 with significant 0.000 (p< o. 05). Between knowledge and obedience has significant value less than 0.,05 it meant that there is all correlation between knowledge and obedience on delivery antibiotic for children with ISP A in Puskesmas Gayaman Mojokerto area. The knowledge of antibiotic is important for mothers has children that's need information or counseling from nurse about antibiotic it self or procedure giving and effect didn't discipline to do the procedure.
