Abstract

The incubalance number of nurses compare to the demand of nurse is a problem that have to be studied. One of the subject the exact nurse, in way of improving the quality of hospital service. The research design was used cross sectional studies with 17 samples of nurse which are taken by using total sampling technique. Data were collected for workload by using observational with time and motion study approach. Data were analyzed by Ilyas's theory that are productive time to work and nonproductive time to work. The result of this research indicated that nursing workload level is low or productive time to work <80%. The type of task of nurses were dominant affected their workload level in a row is private task (39,35%), indirect nursing (38,38%), direct nursing(l2,78%), rest time (7,28%), and administration task (2,21%). The conclution of this study is the low rate of the workload level that nurses has was affected by their dominant type of task is nonproductive time to work. It is very suggested for the unit management reorganize the design of job or task of nurses to it can optimalyzed care of nursing to the patient
