Abstract

Mastitis is known as a mammary gland inflammation caused by pathogenic microorganism. Mastitis cause an economically lost such as the degradation of milk production anf quality, an early culling decision. A routine examination and teatdipping are one of the choice of controlling of this condition. This study will discuss about the effect of teat dipping with noni fruit extract (Morinda citrifolia L) towardsub clinic mastitis of dairy cattle with Total Plate Count (TPC) method. According to Jayaraman at all (2008), noni fruit extract has an antibacterial substance against S.aureus, and E. coli. This research aimed to study a noni fruit extract that has an active substancein the dipping solution which has an antibacterial effect. Method used in this research was California Mastitis Test (CMT) to get a sub clinic mastitis, and this method followed by microbiological testing with Total Plate Count method to determine the count of bacteria. Teat dipping can decrease the count of milk bacteria.
