Abstract

There have been a lot of thoughts suggested to solve the poverty problem, especially in villages. It is clearly stated that the policy to solve this problem is focused on the importance of "the increase of income" directly or indirectly, by giving an opportunity to the poor to improve themselves. A set of problems brought up in this research is (1) how do the villagers give consideration to the aid given by the government or other institutions-sosial organization?, (2) what factors do bulid consideration to the aid of income raise accepted ?, (3) how is the process of social relationship in the village institutional (the implementer organization) which has a close relationship in the with the aid giver to concerned villagers ?, (4) how do the aid receiver groups describe their identity? This research tries to find the meaning of the society member's action (accepting or declining) to the aid given. Therefore, this research uses social definition paradigm due to the fact that this study tries to comprehend the subjecti ve meaning given by individuals in accepting the aid. The issue is the social definition process and the consequence of an action and social interaction related to the aid of income raise.
