Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the presence of Multidrug Resistance of Escherichia coli were sampled from 100 swab samples of rectal cattle collected from slaughtere house Surabaya. The results of the isolation and identification showed that 41% samples were positif of Escherichia coli. Resistance testing using disc diffusion method was performed on 5 types of antibiotics: Amoxycilline, Gentamicin, Ceftazidime, Ciprofloxacin, and Tetracycline. Antibiotic Resistant Escherichia coli were found in 17 isolates from 41 isolates and 3 of the Escherichia coli were positive multidrug resistance. Those E.coli were found to be resistant towards Amoxycilline 70% (12/17), Tetracycline 58% (10/17), Cirofloxacin 17% (3/17), Gentamicin 5% (1/17), Ceftazidime 5% (1/17).
