Abstract
Language is source of communication. Every individual has it own ways to
express an idea, plan to communicate. One of those ways is making song lyric.
Song lyric has diction or word choice, which the expression of the communication
are either direct or indirect. And occasionally, there is an figure of speech or style
of language. The are diction and style of language in L’Arc~en~Ciel songs lyric,
which is the research object. Songs which especially have love theme. Song lyric
of L’Arc~en~Ciel has many figure of speech, so it makes the meaning of the song
become implicit.
The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The teory used is
stylistic, which include the diction and the style of language. The diction are
meaning of word also expression and use of foreign language. Meanwhile the
style of language are metaphor, personification, hyperbole, synekdoke, simile,
paradoks, alusio, etc. the result of the research is the most use diction were
connotation word, which have many figure of speech. While the style of language
often uses simile.
