Abstract

Body image dissatisfaction triggered by unrealistic beauty standards in the digital era frequently develops into maladaptive psychological conditions, such as Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). This issue is further compounded by low mental health literacy and strong social stigma. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the digital psychoeducation program @Into.You.Club in enhancing BDD awareness and literacy among adolescents. The hypothesis proposed is that this program is effective in increasing adolescents' BDD literacy. The research design employed is a quasi-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, with the intervention consisting of 7 educational contents based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) delivered progressively over 20 days. The results demonstrated a highly substantial descriptive increase in the average BDD literacy score, rising from 76.4% in the pre-test to 99.44% in the post-test. In conclusion, this interactive digital psychoeducation program via Instagram is empirically effective in deepening conceptual literacy and correcting clinical misconceptions regarding BDD among the youth population. In conclusion, social media can be effectively repositioned as an interactive, CBT-based psychoeducation channel to improve literacy and correct BDD misconceptions, presenting a highly replicable, low-cost digital model.
