Abstract
This study aim in knowing the mechanism of nerve damage in the relation with its risk factors, which are CD64 neutrophil, IL17 with PGE-2 protective factor and IL-10 disregulation in ENL patients. This is an analytic cross-sectional design study with blood and tissue samples from 30 leprosy patients with ENL in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. All the samples were examined by ELISA for IL-17 and IL-10 in circulation, for CD64 in circulation was examined by flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry was used to examine CD64 neutrophil, IL-17, iNOS, MMP-9 and S-100. There are roles on CD64 neutrophil, IL-17, iNOS and MMP-9 in tissues on the dermal nerve damage in ENL. IL-10 in tissue was initially thought to have protective effect was actually proven to damage dermal nerve in ENL. There was also correlation between ENL severity level and nerve damage in ENL In conclusion, The Mechanism of Dermal Nerve Damage in Erythema Nodosum Leprosum Patients in Associated with IL-17, CD64 Neutrophil, IL- 10 and PGE-2 Disregulation in the tissue
