Abstract

Povidone - iodine has antiseptic properties for healing wounds. This study made antiseptic preparations with variations of the base used. This study aims to detennine whether the difference in bases in the fonnula used affects its stability and the relationship between the stabi lity of the resulting fonnula and cost. Formula 1 with hydrocarbon base, fonnula 2 with hydrophilic base, fonnula 3 Na-CMC gel base. All three formulas are observed for stability by the method free::e - thaw with temperature differences for 18 days and observed organoleptis, homogeneity, dispersion, pH viscosity and processed using oneway Analysis of Variance and control chart I-MR. The results showed that the difference in the base of the fonnula had a significant effect on the value of dispersion, pH and viscosity with a significant value of 0.000. Descriptively, formula 2 has the best stability based on the results of the tests performed. Jn tenns of cost, fonnula 2 has a greater cost of raw materials compared to Formula 1 and Formula 3
