Abstract
The aim of this research was to standardize the quality of 96% ethanolic extract of suji leaves (Dracaena angustifolia) from Batu and Kebumen by determining specific and non specific parameters of extract. The raw materials planted atBatu - East Java and Kebumen - Center Java. Standard parameters which used in this research referenced to Herbal Pharmacopoeia of Indonesia. The result of specific parameters of the extract showed that the organoleptic properties of ethanolic extract of suji leaves were greenish black, has specific odor, and bitter taste, the yield of extract from Batu and Kebumen were 22.6% and 12.4%, the content of sterols from Batu and Kebumen 3.99% ± 0.21 and 0.92% ± 0.26, the ethanol soluble extractive content from Batu and Kebumen 70.38 % ± 3.91 and 67.57% ± 2.31, the water soluble extractive content from Batu and Kebumen 60.73% ± 2.12 and 44.76% ± 4.47, respectively. The non specific parameters of the extract showed that the total ash content from Batu and Kebumen 4.46% ± 0.15 and 11.26% ± 0.57, acid insoluble ash content from Batu and Kebumen 0.24% ± 0.13 and 0.66% ± 0.10, water content from Batu and Kebumen 11.32% ± 0.57 and 14.32 % ± 0.57, loss on drying content from Batu and Kebumen 17.55% ± 0.19 and 22.85% ± 1.47, respectively.
