Abstract
An elderly should retired or didn’t get physical hard work. But, in desa canggu found 35% elderly that had been worked as farmer. The aims of study is determine the meaning of quality of life in farmer’s elderlys at Desa Canggu, Kec. Badas, Kediri This was qualitative research with descriptive phenomenology design. Participants in the study were all elderly (≥ 60 years old) who still works as a farmer at Desa Canggu, Kec. Badas, Kediri. The number of participants was 6 people. Data collection techniques using Spiegelberg methods, and data analysis by Broun & Clark. Instruments and tools that researchers used are researcher, arrangement of structured interviews, field notes and camcorder. Result had showed that the meaning of quality of life in elderly consist of four major themes; physical health, psychological, environmental and social relationships. Physical health described in five aspects; working capacity, activity, energy, health issues and health problem solution. Psychological described in two aspects; positive feelings and spiritual. Environment described in three aspects; physical work environment, social work environment and social aspects of financial resources. Social relationships described in two aspects; views of environmental and family support. The conclusion was elderly farmer had good meaning in quality of life. Health care provider, especially nurses are expected to socialize how the way to maintain health on elderly farmers. Future studies are expected to broaden the scope of participants in the study.
