Abstract

Issue raised in this research is how the role of women announcer in representing issues concerning women's problem in Mataram City which implemented through broadcast result into news programs. The problems of women announcer role covering what kind of process passed by women announcer to raise women issues and what are the obstacles faced by them while working in broadcast radio station organization especially in raising women issues. The objective of this research is to obtain a description regarding the role of women announcer who works in private broadcast radio station in representing issues concerning women's problem in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara. This research expected can give an empiric illustration regarding women's role as announcer in community especially in representing issues concerning women's problem. Besides, as a thinking contribution for private radio station owner as well as government in making policy so that they will prepare or arrange work field for women either as announcer or other activities so that the balance of the role will exist in radio station. This research is expected will increase people's comprehension regarding women and their range.
