Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of COVID-19 vaccine of white pulp and marginal zone spleen diameter in mice (Mus musculus). This study used 25 female mice as laboratory animals and divided into five groups with different treatments for 36 days. Control group namely (K) the treatments consisted of administered subcutaneously with 0.1 ml of PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline), the treatments group namely (P1) the treatments consisted of administered subcutaneously with 0.1 ml COVID-19 vaccine candidates type 1, the treatments group namely (P2) the treatments consisted of administered subcutaneously with 0.1 ml COVID-19 vaccine candidates type 2, the treatments group namely (P3) the treatments consisted of administered subcutaneously with 0.1 ml COVID-19 vaccine candidates type 3, the treatments group namely (P4) the treatments consisted of administered subcutaneously with 0.1 ml COVID-19 vaccine candidates type 4. Mice adapted in BSL-3 for 7 days with ad libitum food and water everyday. PBS and COVID-19 vaccine candidates administered subcutaneously on day 8 and day 22. All mice from every groups euthanized on day 36 to collect the spleen sample. The result were tested using the homogeneity test, normality test and ANOVA test with Windows SPSS version 23. The result showed that COVID-19 vaccine candidates has an effect on spleen activation on histopatological misroscopic which are characterized by an increase in the diameter of the white pupl and the width of the spleen marginal zone of mice (Mus musculus).
