Abstract

Cervix cancer is one of the disease that makes every woman feel frustrated and worried. The patient who affected by cervix cancer will experience physical and psychological response. Nurse is expected to provide spirituality guidance and bring back the patient's quality of life. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of spirituality guidance SASETA on psychological (depression) and biological response changing in cervix cancer patient at the gynecology ward RSU Dr Soetomo Surabaya. This study used quasy experimental design, population was the patient staying at gynecology room. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample was taken from those suitable with inclusion creteria, with the total sample 18 patients. The independet variable in this research was spirituality guidence SASETA and the dependent variabel was the psychological (depression) and biological response. The data were collected by using questionaire and interview. Data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Mann Whietney, Paired t Test, and Independent t Test and Sperman Rank Corelation, at significance of p = 0.05. The result showed that spirituality guidence SASETA on the change of psychological response (depression) (p=0.008), pulse (p=0.038), and respiratory rate (p=0.042). While on the systole blood pressure (p=0.139) and diastole (p=0.225) influence. Psychological and biologycal respons it had not significant. The conclusion, spirituality guidence SASETA from nurse will help the patient in increasing the quality of life concerning with stress reduction of the patient. Further study the effect of spirituality guidance SASETA on stress hormone (cortisol).
