Abstract
Background: Bolton’s ratio is the ratio to estimate the equilibrium relationship between the teeth of the mandible with the maxilla. Bolton ratio is useful for estimating large of overjet and overbite after treatment. Purpose: To measure the proportion of mesiodistal size of the mandible and maxilla with anterior and overall Bolton ratio in the population of Java. Method: Measure the mesiodistal teeth of the mandible and maxilla with calculations using the formula Anterior and overall of Bolton ratio. The ratio results of Java population calculate in Mann-Whitney statistic test with secondary from Boltons data to see the difference between the two ratios. Results: No significant difference of the two variables (p> 0.05). Conclusion: Bolton ratio can be applied to the teeth of Javanese population samples
