Abstract

Background: Nature material especially plant, have been used in healthy world. Now, plant in Indonesia have promoted in medical and dentistry. In dentistry, the treatment that cause wound is often. If it didn’t cure with good, can cause an infection. So, to prevent that thing, it used wound medicine. One of the nature material that has a good effect is ambon banana stem sap. Ambon banana stem sap had been used by people in Trunyan village to accelerated wound healing. Purpose: Empirically, ambon banana stem sap is non toxic, but no yet researched. So, this research is done to proved that the stem sap is non toxic for fibroblast cell. Method: This research was done on fibroblast cell culture BHK-21 (Baby Hamster Kidney-21). The concentration of ambon banana stem sap were 10, 20,30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100%. The ambon banana stem sap applied into fibroblast cell culture and incubated for 24 hours. After that, ELISA reader used to read the result of this experiment. All quantitatives data were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and then continued with HSD Test. Results: This research prove that ambon banana stem sap is non toxic for fibroblast cell because the amount of fibroblast cells at the treatment group are more than 60% and there are significant different between treatment group and controll group (p<0,05). Conclusion: Ambon banana stem sap is non toxic for fibroblast cell.
