Abstract

Background : lately the popularity of all ceramic inlay and onlay, veeners, crown, fixed partial denture have increased due to the esthetic and the biocompatibility. Not only the material, but also the technique how to make a prosthetic has developed as well, for example nowadays CAD/CAM machine is getting more popular among the dentist. But the accuracies, the clinical appliance, and the quality of CAD/CAM machine should be tested first before further usage. Research purpose : to know how is the accuracies of marginal adaptation lithium disilicate coping made by using CAD/CAM machine is proved to be more accurate compare with conventional technique Material : Porcelain used is lithium disilicate. Lithium disilicate is one of the glass ceramic material. The physical properties which owned by the material can go up to 450 MPa and the flexural strength is up to 400 MPa Result : The accuracies of marginal adaptation lithium disilicate coping made by using press technique and CAD/CAM machine are 53 μm and 55.8 μm. Each standard deviations is 11.35 μm and 15.71 μm. There are no significant difference between marginal adaptation made by using both techniques. Conclusion : The accuracy of marginal adaptation lithium disilicate coping made by using press technique and CAD/CAM machine has no significant difference. But CAD/CAM machine has more production speed compare with conventional technique, Both coping marginal are in the category of clinical appliance, i.e. 50-70 μm.
