Abstract

Background. Hybrid resin composite is one of tooth-colored restorative materials that recently popular cause has aesthetic, but it can changes by environmental solutions, one of them is mouthrinses. Purpose. This study is purposed to evaluate the changes of hybrid resin composit color after immersion in two kind mouthrinses. Method. Each composite was measured the color intensity after it was immersed in artificial saliva that was used as pre-test. Then composites were divided into four groups (six each). First group was immersed in non alcohol’s mouthrinses for 34 minutes, second group was immersed in non alcohol’s mouthrinses for 44 minutes, third group was immersed in alcohol’s mouthrinses for 34 minutes and the last group was immersed in alcohol’s mouthrinses for 44 minutes. Measurement color intensity after immersion in mouthrinses was used post-test. Color measurement using optical spectrometer (OPT 101 type of photo detector), He-Ne light supply and digital microvolt. Result. The statistical test used repeated measures ANOVA and LSD with 0, 05 significance degree level. All specimens displayed color change after immersion, and there was not statistically significant difference among group (p>.0, 05). Conclusion. It was concluded that hybrid resin composite after immersion for 34 and 44 minutes in non alcohol’s mouthrinses and alcohol’s mouthrinses, the color didn’t change
