Abstract

Merokok dapat mengakibatkan kegagalan terapi implan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh senyawa – senyawa yang terdapat dalam rokok, yang dapat menyebabkan iskemia jaringan, gangguan proliferasi dan fungsi osteoblas, gangguan transportasi oksigen, dan penurunan aktivitas PMN, sehingga mengganggu terbentuknya osteointegrasi antara implan dengan jaringan peri implan.
