Abstract
This research was conducted to compare the effectivity of juice therapeutic using celery (lor="#FF0000">Apium graveolens) and starfruit (lor="#FF0000">Averrhoa lor="#FF0000">bilimbi ) herbal on cholesterol LDL and trygliceride level of mice (Mus musculus) blood serum with hypercholesterolemia. Twenty five male mice three month with 20 — 30 g in weight were randomly divided into five groups consisting five animals per group. To induce hypercholesterolemia, during 40 days mice in each group were given yolk of commix egg. During 21 days of treatment, mice were given 0,2 ml/day celery juice ( group I ), 0,2 ml/day starfruit juice ( group II ), 0,2 ml/day mix of celery and starfruit juice ( group III ) per oral/day. Blood samples were collected and level of cholesterol LDL and trygliceride were measured one day before treatment and in the last treatment day. Data analyses were performed using Anova test and BNJ 5% test. The result showed that application of juice therapy using celery and starfruit have significantly decreased of cholesterol LDL and trygliceride ( P < 0,05 ). Three varians juice therapeutic showed an equal effect on decreasing cholesterol LDL and trygliceride level of Mus musculus blood serum with hypercholesterolemia.
