Abstract

This study aims at comparison of methane gas of four kinds of complete feed with different nutrient content in feces. The research was conducted on 10 dairy cows hybrid of Friesian Holstein (FH) females aged 5-12 years with a lactation period of 2-6 months. The study design used was completely randomized design with five treatments, namely P0, P1, P2, P3, and P4 with two replications. P0 is the complete feed control which in the form of forage and tofu waste, whereas P1, P2, P3, and P4 is a complete feed with additional formulas are different. Feed treatments performed during one week with one week period of adaptation. Stool specimen for one week in conjunction with the treatment of feed. Analysis proximate to know gas rate methane in feces is done in Animal Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University. Processing data using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA). To know is there is difference among treatment given hence the test is continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5%. The software used for data analysis is a Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) seris 17 for Windows. These results indicate that the methane in Herideted FH feces showed a highly significant difference (p < 0.01). The highest methane gas results in the treatment P2.1 and P4.1 as the lowest treatment. The results showed differences in the treatment of energy consumption is highly significant difference (p < 0.01). Produced the highest yield of energy contained in the treatment of P2.1, while the lowest energy that is generated by the treatment of P0.2.
