Abstract

The purposes of this research were to identify the infection level and prevalence, type of worms and on digestive tract of zebra in Taman Safari Indonesia II and Batu Secret Zoo. Samples of faeces were taken randomly. The number of faeces samples in Taman Safari Indonesia II were 27 determind by natif, sedimentation and float methods. The sum of faeces samples in Batu Secret Zoo were 6 determind by natif, sedimentation and float methods. The average of infection level digestive tract of zebra in Taman Safari Indonesia II is 347 and Batu Secret Zoo is 300. The results of the prevalence and infection level are still be able low infection. The results indicate that helminthiasis prevalence were 37% in Taman Safari Indonesia II and 33% fin Batu Secret Zoo. The types of worm that were found come from Nematode class, they were Parascaris equorum, Trichonema spp, Strongylus spp, and Triodonthoporus spp. The type of worm that was found come from Trematode class is Schistosoma bovis.
