Abstract

This research aims to determine response to the onset of estrous after revocation MPA (Medroxy Progesterone Acetate) intravaginal followed by giving of gonadotropin hormone on fat tailed sheep. Twenty ewes in good health, not pregnant, and at least already gave birth once had been divided into four groups P0, P1, P2, and P3. P0 and P1 was given MPA intravaginal sponge with different doses 40 mg and 60 mg and then were injected physiological NaCl, P2 and P3 was given MPA intravaginal sponge with different doses 40 mg and 60 mg and then were injected PMSG 200 IU and hCG 100 IU. The observation time of onset of estrous was conducted around three days after the removing intravaginal sponge and injection physiologic NaCl, PMSG and hCG on day 11. This study used complete random design and the result has been analyzed using ANOVA (Analyzed of Variance) and continued with Tukey HSD Test Method and processed by using SPSS version 20. The result showed of giving MPA intravaginal dosage 40 mg and 60 mg with followed of giving gonadotropin hormone (PMSG 200 IU and hCG 100 IU) could effect response to the onset of estrous on fat tailed sheep.
