Abstract

This research aimed to isolate and identificate AI (Avian Influenza) Subtype H5 virus from unhealthy chickens with clinical signs dyspsnoea and torticollis in Larangan wet market, Sidoarjo. Fourteen samples were taken by cloacal swab from unhealthy chicken with clinical signs dypsnue and torticollis. Then, sample isolated in Specific Antibody Negative (SAN) Eggs and incubated for five days. Allantois fluids were test by Hemaglutinin (HA) assay and followed by Hemaglutinin-Inhibition (HI) Assay after incubated period. Antiserum of AI and ND virus were used in HI Assay. Result of the research showed that among fourteen samples, eight samples were Avian Influenza sub-type H5 positive and one of them was also ND virus positive ND virus. It can be concluded that there were AI subtype H5 virus infection in unhealthy chickens with clinical signs dyspnea and torticollis in Larangan wet market, Sidoarjo.
