Abstract

Growth Differentiation Factor-9 (GDF-9) is a glycoprotein belonging to the subfamily of the Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGFβ) secreted by the oocyte with a molecular weight of 51 kDa. GDF-9 stimulating granulosa cells proliferation and inhibiting differentiation. The purpose of this study is to indentify GDF-9 in oocytes collected from preanthral bovine follicle which matured in vitro. This study uses a method based on the specificity immunocytochemistry bond between avidin and biotin molecules contained in the secondary antibody avidin-biotin complex shape. Sample, bovine ovaries, are collected from RPH Penggirian Surabaya. This study using 105 matured oocytes from 62 ovaries. Immunocytochemistry result showed 77,14% GDF-9 identified. It means GDF-9 playing a rule in maturating oocytes which collected from preanthral follicle.
