Abstract

Outbreak of Avian Influenza (AI) caused by highly pathogenic H5N1 type A influenza virus begins in Indonesia since 2003. The disease has been spreading up to 31 out of 33 provinces of Indonesia and become endemic in those area. The control of AI in Indonesia to eradicate it includes vaccination program of poultry. The purpose of this study is to know the reactivity of AI A/H5 virus against antibody of vaccinated chickens with several AI commercial vaccines. The methods used in this study was Haemagglutinin Inhibition test to know the homologous of the antigen and antibody. The result of the study showed there were reactivities between AI A/H5 field virus to several sera AI of commercial vaccine. There are many diversities of the HI titer. Further research needs to be done especially to get the seed virus of local circulated virus isolates for a potential vaccine.
