Abstract

The aim of research was to determine effects of the inspection of Typhonium flagelliforme herbal suspension on the SGOT and SGPT of Rattus norvegicus. The treatment consisted of 18 male rats (Rattus norvegicus) in good condition, three month old with body weight around 150 to 200 g, divided into group of 5 rats each. The control group (P0) was treated with 3 ml of suspension solvents three times a day for a period of 4 weeks. Herbal suspension of Typhonium flagelliforme at the same dose of 0.06 ml/day was administered orally as much as 3 ml three times a day but with different duration of administration: P1 was treated for 1 week, P2 was treated for 2 weeks, and P3 was treated for 4 weeks. Post treatment’s rat were euthanized by using dietyl ether. Blood that has been taken and then used for the inspection of SGOT and SGPT. The data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance followed by LSD test. The results show that Typhonium flagelliforme increased SGOT and SGPT. The treatment dose 0,06g/200 g BW for 4 weeks gave the highest increase in enzyme levels of SGOT and SGPT.
