Abstract

A lot of useful contents from the peels of Citrus nobilis Lour. such as alkaloid, flavonoid, polyphenols and hesperidin which can function as an antifertility. In addition, it contains harmful content such as saponin which may damage the kidneys and affect the excretion of urea in blood. Purpose of this research is to detect influence distribution of water fraction of Citrus nobilis Lour. peels to blood urea nitrogen levels in the blood serum of male mice (Mus musculus) This experiment used 24 male mice, randomly divided into four different treatment and six replicates each. Each treatment (P1: 40 mg/kg body weight, P2: 60 mg/kg body weight, P3: 80 mg/kg body weight respectively) administered water fraction Citrus nobilis Lour. 1 cc orally for 35 days, except in the control group (P0) who were treated with 1 cc of distilled water for 35 days. This research was analyzed using Completely Randomized Design and continued with Least Significant Difference Test with 5% significance level to know the different treatments. The Results showed there are significant differences of blood urea nitrogen levels in the four treatment groups (p <0.05), in cases there was increased in P1 treatment group but keep in the normal limit. There is no significantly differences on the remained groups (P2 & P3)
