Abstract
The aims of this study was to identity Prevalence of Canine Scabies on the Dog patien Hospital Veterinary Medecine Faculty of Airlangga University period of 2005-2009. Determining a first occurrence of disease in general - the first thing to do is collecting data on clinical symptoms, after the clinical data is considered sufficient then from the collected data were grouped by age, gender, type of animal, and the distribution by month to determine the influence of the season. Then the data obtained is tabulated and is supported by descriptive epidemiological analysis. The observations showed that the highest scabies prevalence more than one year was 33 cases (54.1%), then at the age of less than five months of the 19 cases (31.15%) and the lowest prevalence scabies for more than 5 months to one year of 9 cases (14.75%). Scabies occurs in all types of the male sex as many as 34 cases (55.74%) and in females as many as 27 cases (44.26%) with correlation coefficient 0,03. Based on animal bread, many of scabies occur in purebread was 41 cases (67.21%) while the dog is not purebread there are 20 cases (32.79%) with correlation coefficient 0.99. Judging from events in every season, event scabies is more common in the dry season with a number of cases as many as 35 cases (57.38%) than wet season with a number of cases as many as 26 cases (42.62%) with coefficient correlation of 0.
